We left Bourke reasonably early this morning and our destination was the town of Charleville in Queensland. We had tried to book into the beautiful park we stayed at on our last visit but it was completely booked out. We were lucky to book into another caravan park in Charleville and when we arrived this afternoon, they were completely booked out too. Travelling to Charleville, we passed through the town on Cunnamulla. We stopped here for a coffee and couldn’t believe how busy it was. Caravans, tourists, grey nomads and families everywhere. It is the first week of the school holidays for NSW and Qld so there are many things happening. We found out that there a was a junior rugby carnival being held at Cunnamulla for all of this week as well as a week-long Cunnamulla Poets and Country Music Muster. We had our coffee, visited the Information centre and while there overheard one of the staff telling a customer that one of the accommodation places in Cunnamulla was completely booked out for the month of July. We will have to do a little more planning to make sure we are able to get into parks. We have booked into Charleville for 2 nights.
