Sunday 3rd July

A very quiet day spent in Bourke today. We did some washing and I thought I would use the caravan park’s dryer to dry the clothes as it was quite overcast and looked like it could rain. Unfortunately only one dryer was working with two out of action so this proved to be a little difficult. There was quite a “line up” of people wanting to use the dryer so I ended up hanging my washing on the line. We drove to the Back O’Bourke tourist information centre and had a quick visit there. It was very busy and as we’d done the tour of the centre which takes a couple of hours, last time we were here, we decided to continue on the main part of town. Being a Sunday there were many tourists around but most of the shops were not open. We knew a good coffee shop but that was not open and unfortunately for Rob, the bakery was closed. We did a drive out of town to the road that leads to the weir but both the weir and the road is now under water! Returning to the van, I waited patiently in the laundry to put our partly dried washing into the dryer. Luckily I had a good book to read.
