Friday 5th August Bedrock Village, Mt Surprise

This morning we said a sad farewell to Rick, Kerry and their dog Bo and Croydon. We certainly had enjoyed our time with them, catching up, relaxing in the pool and doing fun activities together. We travelled back to Mt Surprise, stopping at Georgetown for fuel and a few groceries. We arrived at the Bedrock Village Caravan Park in Mt Surprise around lunchtime. After setting up and a quick bite to eat, I went for a walk into the main part of town as I had noticed history displays on some of the buildings and other places in the town. Poor Rob continued on with his job of cleaning off red sticky mud that coated the mud-flaps on the car and the front of the caravan and really all the lower areas and underneath sections of the caravan. There is a lot of roadworks going on up here at the moment and we had to travel on a temporary, detour road next to the main road. A water truck had wet this road down and we think it was just before we drove over it hence the mud! We understand that they water the dirt roads to keep the dust down for the workers working on the main road but considering no one was working on the main road today we were a bit confused. Anyway after my walk around town and Rob’s hard work we spent time cooling off in the lovely pool here.
