Sunday 17th July Mareeba

We were in no hurry to depart Kuranda as we only had a 30 minute journey to our next overnight stop in Mareeba. It was probably a good thing as once again it had been raining for most of the night and continued in the morning. Luckily, once we were close to packing up all the bits and pieces outside, the rain had abated and we were able to complete the pack up without becoming soaked. We still arrived at our next destination by 9.30AM and quickly settled in. Mareeba had not had any rain and it was lovely and warm when we arrived. Our site is huge and on grass which was a little different to the small, tight, muddy site we had in Kuranda. We did a walk along the main street of Mareeba before doing some shopping. The afternoon was spent going for a scenic drive around the hinterland of Mareeba. Rob checked out the Mareeba golf course and is going to play a round of golf tomorrow before we head to Lake Tinaroo.
