Sunday 24th July Lake Tinaroo, Yungaburra

I had found another river that emptied into Lake Tinaroo but it would need quite a long kayak, across an open section of the lake first before reaching the river. When Rob arose this morning, he thought that today might be the day to attempt to do this as the water on the lake was like glass. Unfortunately by the time I was ready to put the kayak in the wind had sprung up and was probably the strongest it has been since we arrived. There was no way I was going to attempt the kayak. This meant that we could do a few jobs around the van and I visited the Yungaburra cemetery. We also decided to drive around to the river I intended to kayak on and have a little look. We found a speedboat club that looked a great place to pull the kayak in and meet up with Rob if I wanted to. This epic kayaking adventure will have to wait for a perfect day. After lunch Rob and I drove to the beautiful little village of Millaa Millaa where Rob had decided he would like to play a round of golf. As it was later in the afternoon, he decided that he would only play 9 holes. He was able to secure a cart so I happily went around with him. The course is very pretty but quite hilly. Following this enjoyable round of golf we visited the nearby Millaa Millaa Waterfalls. These falls were quite spectacular with plenty of water tumbling over the falls.
