Today was both busy and very enjoyable. We departed Innot Hot Springs early in the morning as the steam was rising off the creek and the hot pools. We retraced our steps back to the Atherton Tablelands and headed for our next stop, the town of Kuranda high above Cairns, in the rainforest. We were making good time so we called into the wonderful Mareeba Information centre for coffee and a pumpkin scone! We arrived at Kuranda around 11am and quickly set up in this very peaceful park. Of course being called “Kuranda Rainforest Accommodation Park”, we are surrounded by rainforest! We tidied ourselves up and then jumped in the car and headed down the mountain to meet up with our friends, Trudy and Rob who were staying at the Pullman Palm Cove Resort. We picked them up and then drove to the main esplanade of Palm Cove. After a windy walk along the seafront, we found a little place for lunch and enjoyed good food and fun conversations. Following lunch we walked a little further and stopped for coffee before dropping Trudy and Rob back at their accommodation. We bought some fuel in Cairns and Rob also had to purchase some parts for the car fridge. From there we headed back to Kuranda. It was a most enjoyable way to spend the afternoon.
